“Our team of outstanding officers is committed to protecting all of Atlanta,” said Chief Pennington. “Our commitment to be a best in class safe city is becoming a reality.” Chief Pennington noted that the success elements contributing to the declining numbers are the leadership of Mayor Shirley Franklin, dedicated officers, a comprehensive plan and COBRA (Command Operation Briefing to Revitalize Atlanta). The advances implemented by Chief Pennington are examples of his commitment that he made when first taking office.
